I am Joelle Vandermensbrugghe. I set up this page in the hope students would use it for whatever they think they can use. It is a iki - I think it is important for students to learn to use wikis. This seems to be the way (one of the ways) things wil be done.

I did a Masters by research and a PhD at the University of Canberra. Many years earlier I obtained a bachelor degree in Communication and Journalism. I try to continue being involved in research. But I do not find it that easy - my job does not leave much time for research, so it is done in bits and pieces. I am writing up results of a big research in the reporting of poverty in the press. I am also very involved in community radio, mor eparticularly ethnic radio.
