"I would like to commence the discussion by skating over the history, characteristics, role and function of Utopia. Then I will try to demonstrate that design is enacted in the permanent present (where the past present & future collide), and propose that in order to project possible futures (ie to design) we need to maintain a belief in the meaning/value of Utopia."
